Head Coach Michelle Frew Michelle Frew '91 returned to her alma mater in June 2024 as the Tritons head softball coach with 28 years as a head coach at the Division II level, with 1,002 career wins.

She spent three seasons as the head coach at the University of Charleston, where she led the team to two NCAA Tournament appearances, including the Women's College World Series this year following a program-record 51-8 record. She was tabbed the MEC Coach of the Year in 2024, and her staff was named the NFCA Atlantic Region Staff of the Year as well.

She won the Mountain East Conference regular season and conference championship in 2023 and 2024 with Charleston. She also led the squad to the NCAA Super Region in 2023. In her time at Charleston, she coached eight All-Americans, 18 all-regions players, and 20 all-conference selections, including a three-time player of the year.

Familiar with the Sunshine State Conference, Frew spent 25 years as the head coach at Rollins, from 1995-2021. With the Tars, she led the program to 11 NCAA Tournament appearances and five Sunshine State Conference Championships while coaching 12 All-Americans, 122 All-SSC Selections, and five SSC Players of the Year. She is also a four-time SSC Coach of the Year (1998, 2010, 2011, 2021).

Frew was a two-sport star during her time in a Triton uniform, playing women's basketball and softball from 1987-91.

A guard in women's basketball, she was a three-time all-conference selection, garnering all-freshman (1987-88),  honorable mention (1988-89), and second-team (1990-91) honors. She was also selected to the all-tournament team in 1989. She currently ranks in several career records, including second in field goals made (528), third in points (1,370), fifth in free throws made (314), sixth in assists (261), sixth in steals (149), 11th in points per game (13.4), 12th in field goal percentage (48.26), 16th in games played (102), and 18th in rebounds (442).

A catcher in softball, she was a three-time all conference selection as well, receiving second team honors in 1988 and 1989 and honorable mention accolades in 1990.  She currently ranks in numerous career records including: fourth in stolen bases (48), fifth in batting average (.326), 13th in singles (100), 15th runs (66), 16th RBIs (61), 17th slugging percentage (.361), and 20th in walks (49).

She graduated from Eckerd in 1991 with a degree in human development. She obtained her master's in guidance counseling from Nova Southeastern.

She is married to Steve Frew '88 and has two kids, Erin and Dylan.
